I have been asked why I would want to make photographs using the old methods which are slow, tedious, expensive, inconsistent, and unpredictable, the very opposite of today's digital images.  I've not yet been able to really answer that question.   

 

I started with film in the 70's, switched to digital when it came, now I'm back-tracking to the year 1851.  

 


Wet plate method, also known as wet plate collodion.
